Terms of Use
Effective and last updated September 24, 2026
Scrybert is operated by Factory 226, dba Scrybert ("we," "us"), 8834 N Main St, Edgerton, WI. Questions: scrybert@scrybert.com.
These terms cover the Scrybert app, the Scrybert website, the Keeper portal at keeper.scrybert.com, and the service behind them. By installing Scrybert, creating an account, or using any part of it, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use Scrybert.
What Scrybert is
Scrybert records conversations on your phone or a paired device, turns the audio into text, and writes summaries, action items and lists from that text. It is a tool for remembering what was said. It is not a court reporter, a medical record, a legal record, or a substitute for professional advice, and it does not tell you who said what.
Scrybert is pre-release
Scrybert is in active development. Features change, some are unfinished, and things can break. We may add, change or remove features at any time, with or without notice.
Recording is your responsibility
You decide when Scrybert records, where, and who is in range. Many places require that everyone in a conversation be told about, or agree to, a recording before it happens. You are solely responsible for knowing and following the recording, eavesdropping, wiretapping and consent laws that apply to every person you record, wherever they are. Don't use Scrybert to record anyone without the notice or consent the law requires, to record children under 13, or anywhere recording is prohibited.
When Scrybert is recording, the app shows a visible, persistent indicator at the top of the screen, including how long the current conversation has been running.
This includes people you overhear as well as people you're talking with. Recording a stranger's conversation in a place where they'd reasonably expect privacy - for example, someone else's exchange with a pharmacist at a counter, in which they identify themselves by name and describe their own medications - can expose you to liability under state recording, eavesdropping and privacy laws, separately from and in addition to the general consent rules above. Some states treat this kind of recording especially seriously. Know the law where the recording happens before you rely on Scrybert in situations like this.
Someone who was recorded with Scrybert and is not a user can ask us about it; see the Privacy Policy.
Summaries can be wrong
Transcripts and summaries are produced automatically, by speech recognition and by an AI model. They can mishear words, miss things, misspell names, combine speakers, or state something with more confidence than it deserves. Check anything that matters against the source, especially dates, amounts, names and commitments. You rely on Scrybert's output at your own risk.
Your account
- You need an account to use Scrybert. You can sign in with Google or with an account key we give you.
- Your account key works like a password. Keep it private. Anything done with your key is treated as done by you.
- You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough in your location to agree to these terms.
- Scrybert accounts are for individual, personal use. If you want to use Scrybert across a team or organization, contact us at scrybert@scrybert.com.
- Give us accurate information, and tell us at scrybert@scrybert.com if you think someone else has your key.
Your content
What you record, and what Scrybert writes from it, is yours. You give us permission to process it only as needed to run the service for you: transcribing it, summarizing it, storing it for as long as your Keeper setting allows, and sending it where you tell us to. We don't sell it, and we don't use it to advertise to you. How that processing works, and who helps with it, is in the Privacy Policy.
Shared links
If you share a summary as a link, anyone with that link can read that summary, whether or not they have a Scrybert account. A summary may name other people and describe what they said or agreed to. You are responsible for what you choose to share and with whom. You can turn a link off at any time, and it stops working if the conversation is deleted or its Keeper window ends.
Apps you connect
You can connect other services, such as Todoist, Google Calendar, Linear, Notion or TickTick, and send action items to them. Once something arrives in another service, that service's own terms and privacy policy apply to it, and deleting it from Scrybert does not delete it there. We are not responsible for services we don't operate.
Things you may not do
- Break the law with Scrybert, including recording people without the consent the law requires.
- Use Scrybert to harass, stalk, threaten or surveil anyone.
- Try to get into accounts, systems or data that aren't yours, or test our security without our written permission.
- Overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service, or use it to build a competing one.
- Resell, rent or share access to your account.
- Use Scrybert as a medical record system, or to process Protected Health Information (PHI) as a healthcare provider, insurer, or their business associate under HIPAA. We do not offer HIPAA Business Associate Agreements.
Paid plans
Scrybert is free today. If we offer paid plans later, their price and terms will be shown before you buy, and purchases made through an app store follow that store's billing and refund rules.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time at keeper.scrybert.com/delete.php. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk. What happens to your data when an account ends is in the Privacy Policy.
No warranty
Scrybert is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of Scrybert or from anything it records, transcribes, summarizes or sends. Our total liability for any claim about Scrybert is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. Some places don't allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.
You cover us for your recordings
If someone brings a claim against us because of how you used Scrybert, including a recording you made without required consent, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, to the extent the law allows.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that goes to court will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app. Using Scrybert after a change means you accept the updated terms.
